After a brief stint playing football in the NFL (which really stands for “Not For Long”), Mike broke into the financial business in 2003 as a financial service rep for MetLife. He received the office “Rookie of the Year” award as a producer. Upon realizing his passion for investing (beyond just life insurance), he got a job as the Director of Education at Optionsxpress, traveling throughout North America and Europe teaching clients about various investment strategies.
In 2009, he decided to go down the path of helping individual investors as a financial advisor and has been in that same role ever since. As the author of “Go Long…New Option Strategies for Buy and Hold Investors”, Mike has a unique approach to investing that is not often seen in today’s environment. He’s also very active in tax planning for clients. As an enrolled agent (the highest credential the IRS awards…IRS Link), he believes that if you don’t take an active role in tax planning, you are putting your retirement plan in jeopardy.
Mike received his Bachelors Degree from Missouri Southern University in 1999.
Finally, he’s not alone! He has a team that he’s been working with for over 10 years that is out of Chicago. As Mike likes to say, “I love these people, but quite frankly, I don’t want to take the train every day, so I have my office in my hometown of St. Charles.”
